# Generate an MCP server

> Generate a local stdio MCP package from reviewed tasks and OpenAPI.

# Generate a local MCP server

MCP generation uses the same reviewed input flow as CLI generation. The only difference is the target:

  --model provider/model-name --credential-env MODEL_API_KEY
# Review .intermesh/generations/my-mcp/generation.json
inter generate run --name my-mcp --dry-run
inter generate run --name my-mcp
```

`generation.json` defines the product, requested tasks, model, and credential references. The OpenAPI copy stays beside it. Intermesh maps every task before building and stops if any task is unsupported or ambiguous.
